2/7/03 - I have worked as a private investigator in the State of Ohio for 13 years since graduating from Pickerington High School in 1985. In the course of my employment I've been to or through nearly every town in Ohio, as well as surrounding states. A recent case brought me to your town and I have to say it was just as charming as I remember being as a kid. I stumbled onto this site while conducting research on the area and had to ask if you still have that awesome street fair in the summer?

1/14/03 - Hi I'm from Pataskala, I now live in Flordia and I miss Pataskala the people, friends and family I plan on retuning every year for the annual Street fair where every one I went to school with and all the teachers that ever taught me always end up.  Pataskala is a great town and I intend on returning there to raise my family. God Bless the town, the school and every one that steps foot on the precious land.

11/13/01 - I am extremely impressed with your site.  Although Pataskala may be a small town it is progressive in many ways.  My wife and I lived in Pataskala while I was a police officer with the Hartford Village police department and she was the manager of Conine Village.  After she passed away I returned to my home state of New Jersey but my thoughts are is still in Pataskala.
I have always regretted my need to leave the area (due to memories) and still miss the rustic setting and country atmosphere.
I suppose in our own way we all linger in the past and remember the good times more than the bad.  My thoughts are those of my wife at that time in that we could walk the streets even after dusk and not feel intimidated by marauding gangs or drive by shootings.  Pataskala to me will always be the town of shaded streets, friendly people and a protective police department motivated to keeping the peace in a rural community.
Thank You for a great site. TheTripleJRanch@aol.com

06/07/01 - I am VERY impressed with this website. I come from a town that is a little smaller than this. It is hard to believe that a town of this size has such a good page. Is it professionally run, or, is it volunteer based. If it is I might be interested in some community service. emonty101@aol.com

05/01/01 - I have lived here in PATASKALA, for over 10 yrs,and I JUST LOVE IT! But im getting concerned with the amount of crime that is going on and the lack of police involvement! A yr ago this june our Van was vandelized while sitting in front of our home on Wood st,that same evening cars on Depot st Granvile High st and Broadway sts were hit with crime,I  know these cops arent FBI Agents ,but it doesnt take a genious to figure out that someone in that area is doing this and has been in trouble before!!! SO PARENTS,IF YOU FIND EXTRA BIKES,POWER TOOLS,AND ITEMS YOUVE NEVER SEEN BEFORE IN YOUR GARAGE,DONT JUST LOOK THE OTHER WAY,CHANCES ARE THEY DIDNT TRADE A CD FOR THEM!!!!
THANK YOU FOR THIS GREAT SITE KEEP UP THE GOOD WORK

03/22/01 - What a fantastic site. I had to laugh when I saw the link on the Alumni site done by Andy Felty I mean Surf Pataskala? you have to be from there to think of it as funny, because my husband didn't get it. I am living in Michigan now with my husband and 2 young children. My Dad still lives on Mink St. (my mom just passed) and the kids and I get home about 4 times a year. I love going back and just letting the kids go free with little worry to play in the corn field or in the creek as we did as kids-man what a good life we had as kids and all we did was complain about how boring it was living there! Thanks again for reviving the memories and I will be sure to check back soon for updates. Go Warriors!!

08/07/2000 - I used to live in Pataskala. I went through 3-6 grade at Jersey Elementary. Then I went to 7th grade at Summit Station. I played a clarinet in the band. I visited the old Jersey elementary in 97. I can't believe the old school is now a memorial. I saw that Miss Calland's house was still across the street along with the Bell's house. I don't know if they still live there. I also saw the old ball field where I played little league. It was nice to visit the old place again.

07/13/2000 - I am from Pataskala and the surrounding area. I have lived on Mink St.two different times, on both sides of 40, and I lived on Palmer Rd between York and 158. I attended Kirkersville Elem. until the 5th grade, thenLicking Heights from the 6th through the 12th. I also attended LCJVS in the drafting program. I was born in at Licking Memorial in 1974, I graduated in1992, and I left Pataskala in 1993 to join the Air Force. I am currently a Staff Sergeant stationed at Ramstein AB, Germany.
When I was growing up in Pataskala there was just a flashing light and if you were driving through and blinked you missed it. I haven't been home in over a year, but the last time I was there it was a pretty busy place. With the BMV, and the new fast food restaurants, it is quite the city. And just as soon as you think the small town is no longer, you run into someone you knew when you were in kindergarten. I love where Pataskala is headed everything you'll need from the city right at your fingertips, but still the small town everyone loved.
Your site has given me a little taste of home.
- Thanks again for this little piece of home.

06/21/2000 - Tommy Alsup is buried there in Pataskala but I cannot remember which cemetary. Tommy was the "Uncle Tom" in Harriet Beecher Stowe's book "Uncle Tom's Cabin". The old Beecher homestead is in that area also.  There was a large white 2 story house there just south of town with a hitching post in front which served as a part of the underground railroad with a hidden room in the basement.  This old house may have been closer to Outville, Ohio but it had a railroad track behind it and an entry to the basement thru the rock springhouse.  It has been many years since I visited the site but I would like very much to know the name of the cemetery where Tom is buried. Do you have any idea?  Thanks,
- S.Sellers Shikaysel@aol.com

I also thank you for the privilege of being first to have an entry under my family history. I will search for a family photo but most of my family photo's were lost in a house fire. 01/29/2000 - I enjoyed reviewing your web site. My grandfather, Frederick Charles was born there in 1881. His father my William Rufus Ramey was also born there in March 1868. William Rufus Ramey was a jeweler and watch maker and he owned his own business in Pataskala. My great great grandfather Sanford Ramey was a settler in the community on his farm. He died in 1890 and is buried somewhere near Pataskala.  I feel a special tie to Pataskala and I hope I can visit your community sometime in the future.
